Did you know that 30% of couples who learn a fertility awareness method when they are TTC get pregnant… just by learning a fertility awareness method? Couples that learn the fertility awareness method understand their cycle and how to time intercourse.
So, that thirty percent is amazing, and something you can learn inside of Fertility Framework… but what about the other 70%?
What if you have learned to chart, identify when you ovulate, and there’s still no positive test?
That’s what this podcast episode is about. Timing matters A LOT. If you don’t know when you’re fertile, you’re shooting in the dark. But what holistic nutritionists will tell you (and what I’ve seen over and over again) is that if your body is inflamed, undernourished, or hormonally struggling, timing alone won’t override that.
Before we go further, let’s start with the word of God.
Genesis 1:29 says,
“I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.”
From the very beginning, food was God’s design for nourishment.
But Jesus also reminds us in Matthew 4:4,
“Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Spiritual nourishment comes first and must be met before physical nourishment. Jesus is the one who is going to guide us on how to eat. He will meet all of our emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
Our cells build up our entire being, our body. Our cells are the building blocks of hormones. Our cells are built on healthy fats.
If you are living off processed foods, inflammatory oils, excessive sugar, or chronically under-eating, your body feels that.
Inflammation can show up as:
Diet and nutrition is not a “one diet fits all” approach. A woman with a 22-day cycle has very different needs than a woman with a 40-day cycle. Nutritional needs differ in a man and woman because a man’s hormones fluctuate on a daily basis, and a woman’s hormones fluctuate on a monthly basis.
When it comes to nutrition advice, I look at your history, hormone patterns, and your cycle phase. What’s going on with your cycle and your hormones is really specific. If you see that only one type of diet is recommended for everybody, that is a red flag.
Our culture says: “When you’re pregnant, eat whatever you want.” Our culture has a very glutinous perspective on eating during pregnancy.
But that is far from the truth and what you should not be doing! Your baby is built from the nutrients you provide. Your uterine environment is influenced by inflammation levels. How you nourish your body during pregnancy affects your energy, your pregnancy, your recovery, and even your long-term health.
I learned this the hard way in my most recent pregnancy. The way I treated my body in earlier pregnancies showed up later. And I don’t want that for you.
