113 | Early Pregnancy Signs: What to Look for in the Two-Week Wait

When my husband and I were trying for our triple rainbow baby after two healthy pregnancies and then three miscarriages I thought I knew exactly when conception had happened. I was in my fertility awareness teacher training, I’d studied the signs, and I was sure I was pregnant.

So what did I do? I tested way too early. Over and over again. And every time, the tests came back negative… until they didn’t.

I laugh now, because I forgot my own training in that moment. But that experience reminded me: knowing the right time to test and understanding your body’s early pregnancy signs can save you a lot of money, heartache, and unnecessary bathroom disappointment. If you want to learn how to track your cycle and understand your body even better, my course Fertility Framework can do that for you.

Even in the unseen places like inside the womb, God’s light is there, knitting life together. He knows the exact moment life begins, long before we do. That truth can bring so much peace in the waiting, especially in those days after ovulation when we wonder, Could I be pregnant?

These signs are easiest to notice if you’re tracking your cycle with a fertility awareness method (like I teach inside Fertility Framework).

1. A Higher Basal Body Temperature in Your Luteal Phase
If your temps stay higher than normal after ovulation, or rise even more and stay up, this could indicate pregnancy.

2. Changes in Vaginal Discharge
Post-ovulation discharge may look or feel different if you’ve conceived. You’ll notice this shift most clearly if you’re used to tracking your normal patterns.

3. A Longer-Than-Usual Luteal Phase
If your luteal phase is normally 13 days and suddenly it’s 15, or if it’s usually 10 and stretches to 12–13, pregnancy is a real possibility.

Here’s the science in simple terms:

  • Conception usually happens in the fallopian tube within minutes to hours after ovulation if sperm are present.
  • The fertilized egg travels for 4–7 days before implanting in the uterine lining.
  • After implantation, it can take another 3–4 days for HCG to reach detectable levels in blood, and about a week to show in urine.

If you test too soon, you might just waste a perfectly good test stick.

Even with all the charts, temps, and signs in the world, there’s a place where only faith can carry you. Whether the answer is yes or not yet, we can praise Him because He is good in both.

If you need to support or want to learn how to have faith in the waiting, then my course Fertility Framework is right for you.

Don’t walk this journey guessing, learn how to read your body’s signs and support your fertility naturally.
