After a pregnancy loss, one of the most common things women hear is: “Just start trying again whenever you’re ready.” And while that advice comes from a well-meaning place, it leaves out something really important, something I wish I had known after my own three losses.
The truth is that pregnancy loss can sometimes be connected to an underlying hormonal imbalance or root issue in the body. And without addressing those things first, jumping right back into trying to conceive may increase the risk of experiencing another loss.
That’s what this episode is all about: giving you the honest, grace-filled truth about what your body may need after loss and how to support it so you can move forward with hope and confidence.
I know this is hard to hear. When you’ve experienced a loss, everything in you wants to be pregnant again. But hitting the pause button on conceiving for at least two to three cycles is one of the most loving things you can do for yourself and for your future baby.
On average, it takes about three months for hormones to rebalance after a pregnancy loss. During that window, your body is working to restore itself. And that process deserves your attention and support, not just a race back to conception.
This isn’t a hard-and-fast rule for everyone. Some women chart their cycles and see that their hormones look great after just a few weeks. Others wait three months and realize their body still needs more time. The key is knowing what your body is actually doing. That’s where cycle charting becomes essential.
One of the most powerful things you can do after a loss is learn to chart your cycle using an evidence-based method. Your chart is a window into your hormone health because it shows you:
Instead of guessing or just waiting for a doctor to clear you, your chart gives you real and observable data about your body in real time.
When I talk about “root issues,” I mean the deep underlying factors that affect your hormone health and fertility. These are the things we focus on inside Fertility Framework, and they include:
Sometimes one of these is off. Sometimes several of them are. And your body may need different amounts of time and different kinds of support to restore each one.
Here’s the thing I want you to hold onto: God designed your body to heal. You don’t have to take a bunch of medications or follow some overwhelming protocol you found in a Facebook group. Your body has an incredible, God-given capacity for restoration.
Sometimes we just need support in learning how to facilitate that healing. That could be through nutrition, hydration, lifestyle choices, herbs, and supplements. These are all within God’s design and with the Holy Spirit guiding the process. That’s exactly what we do inside Fertility Framework. We don’t just give you information… we walk with you, give you accountability, and help you create a specific plan for your body and your situation. Because you don’t have to figure this out alone.

This was the scripture I repeated over and over during my own waiting seasons after loss. Waiting is not weakness — it’s an act of faith and strength. And you, sister, are worthy of doing this well. Your future child is worthy of it too.

If you’re in a season of healing after loss and you’re not sure what to do next, here’s where to start:
